Teaching the public how bees stay cool at MPM Inside Out event
The Cook Lab hosted a table at the Milwaukee Public Museum Inside Out event on April 26 titled “Stay Cool: How Honeybees Collectively Regulate Colony Temperature”.
Dr Cook was joined by PhD students Rachael, Casey, and Kerrigan to talk about our research, show off an observation frame, and answer real-world questions about insects. Museum members young and old gathered around our table to chat about topics such as bee thermoregulation + other behaviors, how bees develop from eggs to adults, and how to support pollinators in your own backyard.
