To be chosen to represent Marquette University at this prestigious event, Elsa and Zac first had to win an internal Marquette undergraduate poster competition demonstrating their presentation skills and depth of knowledge about their research project.

At the big event at Madison Square Garden, Elsa and Zac competed against more than 50 other posters representing selected research from all Big East member schools. Their research on how social information informs collective behavior impressed the judges, and this combined with their presentation skills and ability to field questions won them first place in the entire competition.

Elsa and Zac’s award winning research was recognized at the Big East Men’s Basketball Conference Championship later that day.
